Torch-On Felt Roofing
Felt is the traditional covering for flat roofs and is still a hard-wearing choice, especially where a roof sees regular foot traffic. Older felt roofs fail when the top layer weathers away, seams open or the decking underneath softens after years of water sitting in dips.
A new felt roof starts with the old covering and any rotten boards removed. Sound decking goes down with a fall towards the gutter, then the felt is torched on in bonded layers, finished with a mineral cap sheet and dressed up every upstand and edge.
